So I have the v 3.13 today. Here are the release notes.
Business Center – HCE v3.13
Select this to download program files that include bug fixes for cases in which:
§ An exception was encountered when you imported an SCS900 work order results file (.spj).
§ In the British English installation, the New button for creating an external service profile was inaccessible. In addition, in the Open Remote File command and the Save File Remotely command, any profiles you created did not appear in the External Service Profile list.
And in rare cases in which:
§ An exception was encountered running the Select by Polygon command.
§ An exception was encountered when you deleted a plan set.
§ On importing a horizontal alignment in an REB road model file (.reb), a transition spiral between arcs going in opposite directions could be associated with the wrong arc.
Business Center – HCE v3.12
Select this to download program files that include these enhancements:
Warning: Files created with this version that contain new object types imported from i-model (.icm.dgn) files cannot be opened by previous versions of Business Center – HCE.
Bentley-Trimble design to construction workflow – You can now leverage an enhanced connection between the virtual and physical environments for infrastructure design and site construction. When design and engineering teams use Bentley ProjectWise to link design offices to construction sites, designers and contractors can collaborate more effectively on constructible models. This integrated and managed workflow enables more efficient bidding and estimating, faster project approvals, reduced change orders, and shortened construction timelines.
Key components of the workflow include:
Bentley ProjectWise – ProjectWise is a system of project collaboration servers and services that provides an environment for work-sharing, content re-use, and dynamic feedback for the design and construction of architecture, engineering, construction, and operations (AECO) of infrastructure projects.
Bentley i-model (.icm.dgn) Files – Infrastructure Construction Models (ICMs) provide a rich data exchange format for Bentley civil design products based on the OpenRoads SELECTSeries 3 (SS3) platform, facilitating the exchange of both CAD information (layers, colors, line styles, names, etc.) and civil design objects (alignments, surfaces, corridors, meshes, linework, points, etc.) within a single transfer mechanism.
Business Center – HCE – Features that support i-model (.icm.dgn) files in this program include:
i-model (.icm.dgn) importer – This importer enables the import and the intelligent reading of an i-model (.icm.dgn) files contents, along with accurate mapping of civil design objects to constructible objects that can be readily moved out to Trimble field systems using standard field data management tools.
External services connection to ProjectWise – This feature allows you to set up ProjectWise as an external service, including the ProjectWise server name, your user name, and password, which can then be used in the commands below:
Open Remote File – This command allows you to open i-model (.icm.dgn) files, as well as native VCE project files, from ProjectWise servers. You can also locate, retrieve, and import other file types from the ProjectWise servers, including PDF, DXF, DWG, DGN, LandXML, CSV, TXT, GENIO and other supported file formats.
Save File Remotely – This command enables you to save native VCE projects to the ProjectWise servers to join the software ecosystem deployed by the contractor or engineer on the ProjectWise server. This information sharing with the ProjectWise community allows for the passing of RFIs or as-built records back to the original engineer or owner upon completion of construction processes. You can also export directly to an external service using the Export command.
Create Points from CAD – In the Create Points from CAD command, you can now create points at the nodes of the meshes in an i-model file.
Note: In addition to being in the installed help, all of the topics related to the above Bentley-Trimble features are available in the # Reference folder on the Tours and Tutorials website
KOF exporter – You can now use the KOF exporter (.kof) to write coordinate and observation files to be read in ViaNova Novapoint software. These files, which can include points, linestrings (including arcs), and breaklines, are used primarily in Norway and Sweden.
SOSI export enhancement – The SOSI Vector Data exporter (.sos; used primarily in Scandinavia) has been enhanced to write points that correspond to feature codes defined in an associated Feature Definition Library file (.fxl/FXL), which is typically registered in SCS900 in the field. To improve and enhance the exporter’s flexibility, an FXL file has been defined with SOSI encoding values (previously a list of all defined SOSI encoding values was pre-defined directly in the exporter).
Linestring enhancement – A new property called Override segment length has been added to linestrings to enable you to override the Maximum sampling distance (as set in Project Setting > Computations > Surface > Breakline approximation parameters) for one or more selected linestrings. This allows you to define how additional points will be added to tangent sections of a linestring when it is used as a breakline in a surface.
Point cloud decimation export settings – When you use the Point Cloud exporter to create a point cloud file file, you can now set decimation settings (Sample points and Number of points) to thin the cloud and keep the file smaller.
And bug fixes for cases in which:
An exception was encountered adding new node labels in the Sheet Set Editor.
In the Sheet Set Editor, the Section Table was at the wrong elevation if tie points were clipped by the extents of the column.
Line styles for the sheet and plottable area did not display in the Sheet Set Editor.
Some alignments did not display correctly in the 3D View if vertical alignment points lined up with HAL stations (the wrong tolerance was used).
The program crashed when you tried to copy one or more piles.
When selected, blocks were being highlighted inconsistently.
In the Alignment Editor, the Vertical tab was not updating when a new vertical alignment was created.
In the Work Order Viewer, the comma delimiter could be incorrect, and the scale was inaccurate when points were displayed.
An exception was encountered when you imported a work order results file (.spj).
A corridor looped back toward itself (due to a small radius) such that a cross-section would intersect the corridor more than once if the left and right extents were wide enough.
