I always wondered what will come after GPS technology, and voila here it is. GPS has been around for a decades and now it found a way into our lives just like any other piece of technology it is part of our phones, cars and even watches. As a daily user of this technology in a semi profesional way I know the benefits and limitations of this. The biggest being a condition of having the open sky to be able to receive GPS signal.
Now the privately held Australian Locata Corporation has came up with a solution not to replace but to complement the GPS in the weak signal areas. As stated on the page it is not to replace GPS because there is nothing global about it.
I can not wait for this technology to come to the machine control.
