Low Accuracy (GPS) – GCS900 error message

MeaningThe GPS receiver is generating positions with errors that exceed the current GOS Error Limit.Common causes

• The following is a list of causes that can make GPS receiver position error increase and therefore exceed the GPS Error Limit.
• Power to the GS receiver was recently applied of cycled
• Satellite tracking has been temporarily disrupted (internal antenna cable or connection)
• Poor satellite geometry due to the GPS constellation or from physical obstructions
• Poor radio coverage
• Radio receiving someone’s else base station corrections
• The machine is a long distance from the base station
• GPS receiver fault
• Incorrect GPS Error Limit set in the machine
• Insufficient satellites

Problem isolation

• Confirm that the power to the GPS receiver is good and that the connectors are secure
• Ensure that the antenna cables are not damaged and that all the connectors are secure with no bent or broken pins
• Check the GPS diagnostics information
• Ensure that the GPS antennas are not obstructed by buildings, trees and so fort
• Verify that, on the data link screen integrity is over 85%. Intermittent or sporadic corrections can result in increased GPS position error.
• Confirm that the GPS Error Limit is set at the correct value.
