Here is how the Trace Enclosed Boundary command works in Terramodel. And one of the uses we have found for it is when you have multiple stockpiles on your site which are acting as a holes in your surface.
3 simple steps to follow:
1;) Draw a random line that crosses all the boundaries in the “working” surface and offset it 3mm
2;) Create a new layer “working 1” and make it a current layer (naming convention is up to you)
3;) Run the command under Draw/Set/Trace Enclosing Boundary. For the boundaries RT click and select layer and pick any line on the on the “working” layer. In the “Loc” inside set box, start clicking in the different areas where the DTM exists and it will start making new boundaries and place them on their own new layer “working 1”.
You should have all the boundaries you need for calculating the volumes.
I recommend thou doing this in Business Center – HCE just because it is much easier.
