Machine Control / Grade control systems are the ultimate earthmoving machine guidance control systems which enable the machines of all kinds to cut the grade with sub-centimeter accuracy automatically.
There are many systems by many different manufactures. Generally they divide into two main categories and they are 2D systems and 3D systems.
- 2D systems utilize a complex slope sensors where the operator manages one side of a blade and the other is guided by the sensor and the presets.
- 3D system utilizes precise guiding systems as GPS, lasers or Robotic Total Stations, which enables sub centimeter accuracy being achieved.
